‘Dhurandhar’ trailer OUT: Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sara Arjun lead high-stakes spy saga
The trailer of Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ is here, featuring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Arjun Rampal in a gritty cross-border action drama. The film releases on December 5, 2025.
After many months of anticipation, the trailer of the much-anticipated spy action thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ by filmmaker Aditya Dhar finally dropped on 18 November 2025. Audiences had been quite eager to have a glimpse of the film’s star-studded cast and high-octane sequences.
‘Dhurandhar’ reunites some of the most beloved Bollywood actors like Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal. Sara Arjun’s debut as a grown-up girl follows her child artist days. Supporting this power-packed ensemble are Rakesh Bedi, Keith Sequeira, and Manav Gohil.

It’s a film set in the drama of espionage across borders, inspired by true events that showcase the commitment and sacrifices made by intelligence officers.

According to official descriptions, ‘Dhurandhar’ deals with the raw world of underworld operations.
What the ‘Dhurandhar’ trailer shows: action, politics, and betrayal
The trailer begins with Arjun Rampal in the role of Major Iqbal in the ISI, comprising a firm, imposing body language. Shortly, Ranveer Singh comes across with his rugged avatar and long hair with a beard, moving through some intense action sequences and showing physical strength in those scenes. Close combats and dramatic confrontations dominate the scenes throughout the trailer.
Other actors making strong impressions include Sanjay Dutt. He appears as SP Chaudhary Aslam. Akshaye Khanna plays Rehman Dakait. And, R Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal.
The trailer combines tense moments with pulsating Punjabi music. It enhances the action bits and setting an engaging tone for the film. The film does not reveal every twist and turn but the visuals give away a tale filled with strategy and betrayal.
Ahead of its trailer launch, Ranveer Singh took to Instagram and shared a striking poster. He introduced himself as the “wrath of God”. The picture went viral in no time.
‘Dhurandhar’ real life story:
The movie reportedly draws inspiration from the life of Major Mohit Sharma, who went undercover as Iftikhar to join Hizbul Mujahideen in the early 2000s. After R. Madhavan’s look in the film was revealed, reports suggested that his character is based on Ajit Doval. In the movie, he is the mastermind working behind the scenes, controlling the key operations.
‘Dhurandhar’ release date
‘Dhurandhar’, produced under the banners of Jio Studios and B62 Studios, is written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar. Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar are co-producers. The film is ready to hit the theatres on 5 December 2025.
FWICE, which represents around 30 lakh cine workers, had sent Ranveer three meeting invitations before issuing the directive. The actor's team received no advance and claims the film lacked a locked script even years after development began.
He spent 17 years building the system. Now he's asking a court to dismantle part of it. The man who once ran Bollywood's most powerful bodies has turned around, and filed a petition against one of them.
While Pakistan's government banned the film, one of its own civic figures broke ranks. Arif Aajakia, ex-mayor of Jamshed Town, said the scenes in 'Dhurandhar' match what he personally witnessed growing up in Lyari.
